Leave Hanoi at 08.00 AM for 6 hours drive along road 6 to Mai Chau in Hoa Binh, home of Thai minority surrounded by mountains and narrow valleys, The Mai Chau area is well known for its stilt houses, the village paths offer us many attractive trekking tours. Arrive in Moc Chau at 02.00 PM, check in a local hotel, freshen up and short rest. The rest of afternoon is for taking photo of the surrounding area, featured with high mountains, evergreen tea plantation on terraced fields. In the evening, we enjoy a traditional music show performed by the young White Thai boys and girls, reflecting the rich culture of this ethnic group. The show is followed by ethnic rice wine “Ruou Can” and ethnic rice “Com Lam”.

Early wake up in the morning, breath the fresh air in the mountain area, spend 2 hours walking around the village on the rice field roads for photo graphy in Moc Chau.

Leave Moc Chau for 4 hours road transfer to Nghia Lo. There are several photo stops along the way. Landscapes are composed by high mountains, valleys with rice fields and tea plantation plus beautiful villages of the Thai and Tay ethnics.

Arriving to Nghia Lo in mid afternoon, spend the rest of the afternoon for photography of the valley surrounding Nghia Lo Township. Overnight in Nghia Lo.

Breakfast at the hotel, leave Nghia Lo for 90km driving to Mu Cang Chai. There are several highlights of the landscapes today: The stunning valley of Tu Le which is famous for sticky rice in region and whole country; the spectacular Khau Pha mountain pass and especially the terraced rice fields in Mu Cang Chai which is listed in top must visit destination in Vietnam. The surrounded landscapes on the way are also worth for taking many beautiful photos.

Overnight in Mu Cang Chai.

Departing for Tam Duong via Than Uyen. It is a long day along the road. This portion of the road runs along the northwest side of Hoang Lien Mountain Range and offers magnificent landscapes which are a combination of highest mountains, marvelous valleys, waterfalls and beautiful streams. Taking many stops and short walks along the way for taking photos of landscapes and local ethnic peoples.

Overnight in Tam Duong.

Leave Tam Duong for 2 hours road transferring uphill the Tam Ton Pass to get over the Hoang Lien Son mountain range to the east side. This portion offers probably the most stunning and magnificent scenery of the mountainous region in Vietnam.

Arriving in Saspa at noon, short rest before leaving for Ta Giang Phinh valley. This is amongst the most beautiful valleys around Sapa, a perfect place for photography tours. Spend the rest hours of taking photo and arriving back to Sapa when it gets dark.

Visit the unique Sa Pa Market where Red Dzao, Black Hmong, Tay, Xa Pho ethnic minority peoples living in different mountain and valleys have clustered to trade their goods. These people are still wearing colorful pattern dress in their tradition way. Then we get off the beaten track, trek into this mountainous region to visit the ethnic village of Cat Cat. Along the way we traverse several rustic villages and see many mountaineers doing their daily works such as logging, herding buffalo and tilling the field. The blend of verdant mountain backdrop and colourful population makes for an unimaginable view. In the evening we attend the extraordinary Love Fair if it’s on Saturday night.

Overnight in Sa Pa.

Drive to Bac Ha, travelling through the Chinese border town of Lao Cai to the colourful Sunday Market at Bac Ha (50km). This market also attracts a wide variety of ethnic minority groups including the H’mong, Dao, Phu La, La Chi, Tay, etc. They still retain their age-old cultural traditions and are recognisably distinct from each other by their dress. The experience of this congregation is unique. After the market we enjoy a walk around the area visiting the Hmong King’s former residence and Ban Pho village where the villagers make the potent local maize alcohol.

Overnight in Bac Ha.

Leave Bac Ha for a new route. The road transfer from Bac Ha to Xin Man which takes the whole morning including many photo stops along the border to China. Take a short break before taking 1.5 hours driving to Hoang Su Phi. Downhill to Tan Quang. This portion of the tour gets through the famous landscapes of Ha Giang Province featured with marvelous landscapes of the two high mountain ranges: Tay Con Linh and Kieu Lieu Ti (2nd and 3rd highest ones of Vietnam). Arriving to Tan Quang junction when it gets dark after many photo stops along the way. Arrive in Hagiang. Overnight at the hotel.

The trip today gets through the famous region of the limestone plateau, passing over 3 stunning mountain passes: Quan Ba, Yen Minh and Pho Cao before driving 32 KM amongst wall-up limestone cliffs. Enjoy wonderful view and take many photo stops along the way. Arriving to Dong van at about 05.00 PM, spend an hour to take photo of Dong Van valley before it gets dark.

Leave Dong Van for Meo Vac. The 28km drive offers unforgettable scenery of Vietnam’s famous wonder: The Ma Pi Leng Pass! This portion of the trip may take several hours to cover because it is a cannot-be-missed part. Have short coffee break in Meo Vac, and then take 2 hours road transfer to Bao Lac town let. The whole afternoon is for taking photo of surrounding area of Bao Lac, especially along the Gam River.

Overnight in Bao Lac.

Spend morning to join local tribal peoples at the Bao Lac market where hill tribal people in their colourful traditional costumes go to the market for shopping and socializing. Then leave Bao Lac for 137KM to Cao Bang along the upstream section of the Gam River which highlighted with high mountains, deep and narrow valleys and stunning villages of the Nung and San Chay ethnic peoples. Enjoy many photo stops and short walk along the way.

Having a coffee break in Cao Bang before transfer along a narrow tarmac for 30KM to Tra Linh town let. This portion offers scenery of the remote mountainous region and typical dwelling of the Tay ethnic that live in large villages form by traditional houses built on stilts.

Morning visit to local market in Tra Linh where the Hmong peoples, living in high mountainous region come early every morning to sell their local products.

Leave Tra Linh for 2 hours road trip to Ban Gioc Waterfall. Having several stops along the way and about an hour at the Ban Gioc Waterfall which lies right at the borderline and well-known as the most impressive waterfall in Vietnam.

Afternoon, process to Nguon Ngao Cave which is famous for its natural beauty as well as historical significance. Then drive back to Cao Bang via Quang Nguyen district which offers different scenery.

Free time to explore this charming township.

Overnight in Cao Bang

Departing for Ba Be in Bac Kan. Visit Ba Be National Park, an ideal eco-tourist destination with interesting scenery and biodiversity. This is an area rich in biodiversity, with many characteristics of ecosystems typical evergreen forest on limestone mountains and lakes in the mountains, lowland evergreen forest. Check in homestay in Pac Ngoi village.

In the morning, take a traditional boat to discover Ba Be Lake at an altitude of 145m above sea level, an area of ​​approximately 500 ha lake, surrounded by limestone mountains with underground streams and caves. After pick-up from your hotel, you leave for Halong Bay. Welcome on board for a junk cruise and set sail in the bay while lunch is served. Passage into the magical bay, where thousands of sculpted limestone islands rise from the waves like dragons’ teeth. After lunch, take a short trek to a nearby summit for a panoramic view of the bay, swimming on a quiet beach or sunbathing on the sundeck. Late afternoon, visit an interesting fishing village with an opportunity to interact with fishermen who have been living in the bay for almost three generations. At sunset, kayak or simply take a bamboo row boat to discover a water tunnel with many coral reefs in a scenic lagoon. Back on board your junk, enjoy watching the peaceful sunset and later unwind at a restaurant. Overnight on cruise.

Wake up on the bay to the sounds of waves and bird welcoming the new day. You will have an opportunity to view the sunrise over the bay. After breakfast, visit a beautiful limestone grotto then walk back to the boat for a final glimpse of Halong Bay while cruising back to the dock. Drive back to Hanoi.

Transfer to Ninh Binh, stop en-route for beautiful pictures of the quite countryside.

Arrive to Ninh Binh. We start to visit Thung Nham, thanks to its amazing pristine beauty, Thung Nham ecotourism zone has attracted numerous tourists. The harmony between the natural landscapes and the creativity of the locals makes Thung Nham become an appealing attraction in Ninh Binh. Located in the core of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex and far about 5km from Tam Coc – Bich Dong tourist zone, Thung Nham ecotourism zone has the advantages of geographical location and easily combines with other scenic sights in Hoa Lu Ancient Capital.
