Today we visit the Reunification Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Sai Gon Post Office and Ben Thanh market. In the afternoon continue to visit this dynamic city including the China town with Thien Hau pagoda and Binh Tay wholesale market where we have 30 minutes free time for shopping. Then visit a lacquerware factory and Vinh Nghiem pagoda to see the 4p.m ceremony. Late afternoon stroll down the fashionable Rue Catinat of old Saigon. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.

This morning we drive to Cao Dai Temples in Tay Ninh to observe the midday service. Tay Ninh , near the Cambodian border, is home to the unique Cao Dai sect, whose patron saints include Joan of Arc, Victor Hugo and Winston Churchill to name a few. The religion is a hybrid of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Christianity. The Cao Dai Temple at Tay Ninh has been described as a Walt Disney fantasia of the East. The temple’s exterior is decorated with multi-colored dragons of all shapes and sizes competing for space with a number of religious symbols. Above the main entrance is the all-seeing holy eye, the symbol of the Cao Dai sect. The interior is just as engaging as statues of Jesus Christ, Buddha and the Hindu god, Brahma, stand side by side. The trip to Tay Ninh is combined with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels. At its height, the tunnel system stretched over 250km. from Saigon to the Cambodian border and was three levels deep. The network included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens.

Today the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience and a feel of what underground life during the U.S.-Vietnam War must have been like. Overnight in HCMC.

After breakfast at hotel, we will take a full day trip to the watery world of the Mekong Delta, just 1 hour and half by road from Ho Chi Minh City. We will have a full day trip here to catch a glimpse of the famous Mekong River. Upon arrival we will take a boat trip along narrow waterways overhung with dense vegetation visiting the fish wharf, the 4 famous islands of Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle and Phoenix. Visit candy workshop then journey by sampan through the canals and mangrove forests where we watch the fishermen lay their fish traps. Enjoy time on the Unicorn Island visiting the local fruit, tea mixed with bee’s honey, and enjoy a locally produced folk show of traditional Mekong Delta music.

Morning transfer from Saigon to Phan Thiet, home to the largest sand dunes in the country, one of the most idyllic seaside resorts in Vietnam well-known for its spectacular sand dunes, endless beaches and beautiful streams and cliffs.
